On 13 December, Messiah church had guests - pastor Tony Elenkov along with his wife Irena and their wonderful four kids. They are our friends for long years. Pastor Tony has ministered in our Bible school two times, reading lectures on Church management and pastor’s theology. He is a decan of the United Bulgarian church’s college, filial of Bible institute in Sofia and he has also a master degree on theology. Tony Elenkov is a pastor of United Bulgarian church "Future and hope" - Sofia.

His message towards messiah church was challenging for the people to strike a balance for the year passed and to define new aims for the new year.

"You did not choose me. I choose you. I appointed you to go and to produce fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name." John 15:16

Everyone has dreams. Even in a time of a financial crisis everyone dreams. The truth is that the good things do not happen just like that. Success is not a matter of luck or chance. Success has been planned. Success is an aim.

The expansion of the Kingdom of God is not an aim only of the leaders in the church, but of the whole church members. It should be of a primer importance of every believer. Sharing the gospel is the major ministry of each Christian.

He is the one who gave these gifts to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do this work and build up the church, the body of Christ. Ephesians 4:11-12

This unity in the body serves for the equipment of the God’s people for the fulfillment of the ministry. Which is the act of ministry? Preaching the good news. Each ministry inside the church as praise and worship, Sunday school, prayer groups, social work and others are assistant ministries. They assist the main ministry – sharing the gospel, to be done.

Three kinds of fruit that each Christian should produce:

  1. personal change – to produce a good fruit, the whole tree should be a good one;
  2. ministry in the body of Christ – the gifts and the talents of the believers should be used;
  3. reproduction – each one who is mature can reproduce himself;

"Then Jesus used this illustration: A man planted a fig tree in his garden and came again and again to see if there is nay fruit on it, but he was always disappointed. Finally he said to his gardener, ‘I have waited three years and there has not been a single fruit fig! Cut it down. It’s taking up space we can use for something else.’ The gardener answered: ‘Give it one more chance. Leave it another year, and I will give it special attention and plenty of fertilizer. If we get figs next year, fine. If not, you can cut it down." Luke 13:7-9

  • to produce fruit as a sign for good relations with God;
  • to produce fruit is a premise for a discipleship;
  • to produce fruit is a premise for receiving answer from God;

"You did not choose me. I choose you. I appointed you to go and to produce fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name" John 15:16
